Remembering a Friend’s Passing on the 4th of July

Normally, the Fourth of July is one of my favorite holidays, but this year I greet the day with a heavy heart.

That’s because my dear friend, fellow history buff and next door neighbor, Matt Rice, passed away suddenly just over a week ago.

Life is precious and today reminds us that no matter our politics, we’re lucky to live our lives in freedom. Never take a moment of life or freedom for granted!

Matt left us way too soon and I’ll remember his kindness and friendship forever.

Wishing you and yours a happy and safe Fourth …
