Let It Snow! I’ll Be Watching the 13th Warrior

This coming weekend, the Northeast where I live is expecting an insane amount of snowfall. This makes traveling to the theater to watch the newest war movies virtually impossible and just plain stupid.

Instead, you’ll find me wrapped up in a warm blanket, sipping a mug of hot chocolate, and watching one of my favorite war movies — yet one that is vastly underrated.

I’m talking about The 13th Warrior, starring Antonio Banderas and based on the novel by Michael Crichton. The movie tells the story of 12 brave Viking soldiers who, along with an Arab diplomat played by Banderas, are dispatched to fight off and save a small village from a mysterious evil called the Wendol.

Loosely based the poem, Beowulf, it’s really cool to watch Vikings do good by doing what they do best, killing things!

It’s available on Amazon Prime, so sit down and enjoy it over this long weekend, no matter the weather outside.
