“That others may live”

These four simple words may resonate with all of us on some level, but for an elite U.S. Air Force unit, it’s not only their motto, it’s what they live by.

They are the Air Force Pararescuemen, or ‘PJs,’ and their job is to be expert combat medics, going into the harshest environments imaginable to save their military brothers and sisters.

Their job is so demanding that the training to do it takes several years. Not only are medical skills required, but dive and jump school, firearms training — everything to fight and get everyone out alive.

Does this sound awesome? If only we could see them in action.

Well, you’re in luck! There’s a great show that you can find on YouTube and it’s called “Inside Combat Rescue.” Each episode follows PJs completing harsh missions during the deployments in Afghanistan.
